Compact form factors

Paragon II Main Switches have 1U to 2U form factors and can be rack mounted. This saves expensive rack space, especially in large data centers.  A small form factor also minimizes power consumption by lowering HVAC provisioning needs.

Highly scalable architecture

Allows up to 10,000 attached devices to be connected in a single logical deployment.  

Stackable expansion unit

Simplifies cabling between ‘tiers' by replacing pass-through cables with a single expansion cable.  Stacking units allow expansion of each switch to support up to 128 devices per switch with a single cable, while saving rack space and HVAC costs.

Support for different User Stations

Allows users to choose any combination of three different User Stations to  connect to the main switch--Analog User Station (P2-UST),  User Station with Integrated IP access (P2-USTIP), and the Enhanced User Station (P2-EUST).  The switch automatically distinguishes between connected user stations.

Multi-platform CIM technology

CIMs allows users to add, remove and hot swap components without interruption to live servers. CIMs are available in USB, Sun and PS/2 versions to support various servers and data center devices.

P2-ZCIM

P2-ZCIMs allow you to daisy-chain up to 42 servers on a single chain using just one Paragon II server port. P2-ZCIMs provide a flexible and cost-effective way to expand the Paragon II capability.

Connectivity

Non-blocked access

Provides 2, 4, 8 or 16 users non-blocked access to connected servers, for local use (via P2-UST or P2-EUST) or remote use (via P2-USTIP).

Cross-platform and hardware independent

Allows a mix of servers such as Windows, SUN, Compaq, HP and UNIX to be connected to the same Paragon II switch.  Also allows connection of serial devices via Raritan's AUATC adaptors.

Optional IP Access

The P2-USTIP supports IP access, enabling up to 2 remote users to access their Paragon II-connected servers from anywhere, at anytime via a Web browser.

Video Display

High video resolutions

The Enhanced User Station (P2-EUST) provides resolutions greater than 1600 x 1200 at distances over 700 feet, and 1280 x 1024 at distances up to 1000 feet, both at refresh rates of 60Hz, 75Hz and 85Hz.

Manual skew compensation

Users can manually adjust video clarity per server.  Skew settings are saved in Paragon's database for use the next time the user logs in.  

Power Management

Integrated power management

Provides a single, consolidated view (and control of) Raritan Remote Power Control Units connected to Paragon II.  Automatically displays power strips and Paragon targets on connected ports.  Administrators can monitor status and power on/off/recycle power to remote equipment including servers, remote alarms, HVAC, and other critical data center equipment.

Administration software

Paragon Manager GUI software simplifies data center management and monitoring by consolidating administration of attached equipment.  With a single view of all connected equipment via the LAN, Paragon Manager captures and saves all system events, can help push firmware upgrades via the network, associate power outlets to connected targets and maintain system profiles.

Network-based firmware upgrades

Simplifies firmware updates by allowing the administrator to push upgrades over the network and complete installs from the NOC ?saving time and money.

Backward compatibility

Paragon II is compatible with existing Paragon equipment, avoiding equipment redundancy and allowing continued ROI.

Event logging

Paragon Manager allows for saving and storage of system events to an appropriate text file.

CommandCenter Secure Gateway integration via Paragon II System Controller

Multiple Paragon II switches can be managed centrally and seamlessly using Paragon II System Controller (P2-SC) and CommandCenter Secure Gateway.  CommandCenter Secure Gateway provides a single sign-on for a consolidated view and click-and-control access to all analog and digital devices in the data center.
